Yakitori & Sushi at Midnight – Original

Yakitori & Sushi at Midnight – Original
A study in light, texture and late-night atmosphere, Yakitori & Sushi at Midnight captures the glow and quiet buzz of a Tokyo alley just after dark — where paper lanterns sway above damp pavements, menus spill from counters, and umbrellas huddle by the door.
This scene is loosely based on photo references with a mix of imagination and artistic license. The glossy reds, deep shadows and pops of electric blue evoke the sensory chaos of the city, distilled here into a moment of calm. Look closer and you’ll spot sake menus, yakitori skewers, and a vivid red umbrella bin beside the door.
Painted over multiple days using high-quality, high-pigment oils, every detail was rendered by hand, section by section.
I’ve ordered a bespoke natural oak frame with a black-stained inner edge — a nod to modern “Japandi” (Japanese and Scandi) inspired design that adds a crisp, contemporary finish.
