This painting captures the timeless charm of Caffè Florian — one of the oldest cafés in Europe, nestled in the heart of Saint Mark’s Square, Venice. The scene is bathed in warm, honeyed light that filters through the colonnades, casting long shadows and catching the gleam of glass and brass.

Painted from memory, multiple reference photos, and sketches made on location, this piece came to life back in the studio — where I layered colour and texture to evoke not just the view, but the atmosphere. It’s about that moment of stillness in a place steeped in stories: the hush between coffees, the golden blur of movement, the gentle rhythm of daily life. Rich in tone and brushwork, it invites you to linger.
