Tai Shan Schierenberg on My Landscape Artist of the Year Submission

A Little Secret I’ve Been Keeping…

Back in June 2025, I received a phone call telling me I’d been selected from over 2,000 applicants to be a main pod contestant on the next series of Landscape Artist of the Year 2026.

Even now, typing that still feels a little unreal.

It turned out to be one of the most surreal, joyful — and quietly nerve-wracking — days of my painting life. What made it even more special was meeting the brilliant judges Tai-Shan Schierenberg, Kathleen Soriano, and Eva Langret, alongside the ever-charming Stephen Mangan.

A huge thank you also goes to the incredible production team, who created such a calm, supportive atmosphere throughout. It truly was a privilege to be part of.

The series has now aired, and in case you missed it, I wanted to share a special moment here.

In the clip below, judge Tai-Shan Schierenberg shares his thoughts on my submission painting — a piece that marked an important turning point in my artistic journey.

Since filming, my work has continued to evolve, but this painting remains a snapshot of that chapter — a moment of stepping outside my comfort zone and saying yes to the opportunity.

✨ The original painting and limited-edition prints are now available via my website at the bottom of this page.
