From Blank Canvas to Laid Back — A Painting in Progress

There’s something special about the quiet corners of everyday life — that soft light through the window, the music playing low, the comfort of a half-read book. Laid Back began with that feeling in mind — a moment of stillness, suspended in time.

This new oil painting came together slowly over a series of calm, focused days in the studio. I filmed the whole process — from gridding up the blank linen to the final brushstroke — and I’m sharing it all in a new video on my YouTube channel.

🎥 Watch the video below to see how I built the layers, shaped the composition, and made small decisions that brought the piece to life — from the hazy reflections on the window to the tiniest details like the ashtray and lamp glow. There's also a bit about the materials I used (linen lovers, this one’s for you).

If you're curious about my painting process, want some insight into how I construct a scene like this, or just fancy something relaxing to watch with your coffee — I hope you enjoy it.

As always, thank you for being here.
